Flamstead End Results – 2023/24
We at Flamstead End School are extremely proud of the results achieved throughout the entire school in the 2023-2024 academic year and are already fully committed to achieving even higher results this year. In the 2023-24 academic year, we were consistent in results achieved within all of our key stages of learning, which is all testament to the amount hard work that our pupils and staff have put in throughout the year.
EYFS – Early Learning Goals
Pupils in Nursery and Reception work towards achieving seventeen Early Learning Goals (ELG) which stretch across seven different areas of learning. These areas are categorised as follows:
-
Communication and Language (C&L)
-
Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
-
Physical Development (PD)
-
Literacy (L)
-
Maths (M)
-
Understand the World (UtW)
-
Expressive Arts and Design (EA&D)
Results
In June, we assessed that 72% of our Reception cohort achieved their Early Learning Goals.
Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
In June, our Year 1 pupils were assessed on their ability to read and decode a list of 40 words to confirm whether they have met the expected standard in phonic decoding. The test also allows for some Year 2 pupils that need to re-sit the assessment. and includes ‘alien words’ (including a cartoon animation) that have been created but can still be sounded out by pupils. The check progresses in difficulty by then testing pupils on real words (with no images) that pupils need to sound out. The pass mark for the check is 32 out of 40.
Results
80% of our pupils passed the check by scoring 32 or more.
Year 4 Multiplication Check
In June, our Year 4 pupils enjoyed the opportunity in participating in an online multiplication test of 25 questions, having 6 seconds to answer each question. The pupils in Year 4 truly challenged themselves to develop their times-tables throughout the year and apply their new understanding to their maths lessons, with the aim of mastering their times-tables by June.
Results
Out of the 60 pupils that participated in the check, 63% secured a score of 20 or above, with 35% scoring the full marks. The average mark achieved for each pupil was an impressive 19.5 out of 25.
Year 6 End of KS2 assessment (SATS)
In May, our Year 6 pupils sat their end of Key Stage 2 assessments for English (Reading and Spelling and Grammar) and Mathematics. At Flamstead End, we celebrate our learning many ways and our pupils were excited to show off their understanding by taking part in the assessment papers. The purpose of the papers is to identify which pupils are working at the expected standard or even at a greater depth standard. Writing and Science are assessed internally through teacher assessment and these results were published to the DfE in June.
Results
Flamstead End school received a combined score for Reading, Writing and Maths (RWM) of 67% with 13% of our pupils secured a combined score for RWM at a greater depth standard.
For Reading, 83% of our pupils achieved the expected standard with 28% reaching the greater depth standard.
For Writing, 80% of our pupils achieved the expected standard, with 32% reaching the greater depth standard.
