International Deaf week

The week beginning 18th September marked the International Week of the deaf 2023. We celebrated this week in school by learning some British Sign Language. Each class had the opportunity to learn some simple words in BSL and practice them on each other! Children also looked at the fingerspelling alphabet and tried to sign some simple words. We will be trying to use these in class each day!

Year 5 Centaur class had a go at signing their names using BSL finger spelling. The children were unbelievably quick at doing it! We also learned some signs for every day phrases and played a finger spelling game online.
