Year 4 Residential Trip 2025 to RootD Adventure

Year 4 Residential Trip Tuesday 6^th May – Wednesday 7^th May 2025

We are delighted to announce a fantastic opportunity for our Year 4 children. We are planning a residential trip to RootD adventure in Harpenden. At Flamstead End we are passionate about providing a wide range of enrichment activities for our children, and about developing their resilience through varied life opportunities. This trip will also allow them the chance to develop teamwork skills, communications skills as well as creating lifelong memories. Many Primary Schools now offer residential trips to children in younger year groups, and we want to make sure our pupils are being provided with the same opportunities.

We understand that you may have reservations about your child staying overnight, however we can assure you they will be extremely well looked after and have a wonderful time!  We have arranged a parent meeting with representatives from RootD for parents and carers to attend on Thursday 26^th September 2024 at 2:45pm in the KS2 hall, please make a note of this date.

When making the provisional booking, the cost of the trip was looked at in detail and is now estimated to be £185 to £200 per child, this has considered all financial expenditures and is dependent on the number of pupils going.

The full cost of the residential covers the following:

• Coach Travel
• Full Board accommodation (Parents will need to provide a packed lunch from home on day of arrival)
• Adventure activities with instruction, supervision and equipment.
• Varied evening entertainment programme
• Shared accommodation (numbers may vary)
• Travel insurance

*Pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant (Free School Meals) will receive a £20 subsidy making the cost of the trip £165 to £180. This will show in Arbor.

Payment demand at RootD Adventures for May 2025 is high, as it is the most popular time. To secure a place for your child, a non-refundable deposit payment of £50.00 is required no later than 3^rd October 2024. Our apologies, for the short notice, however, due to such limited availability we have no other option but to try and secure this trip now.

Please find below a suggested payment plan, however, you may make full payment or additional payments at any time via Arbor although no later than:

2nd Payment of £50.00 by 1^st November 2024

3rd Payment of 50.00 by 1^st December 2024

4^th and final payment of £50.00 by 1^st February 2025

All payments must be paid via Arbor and by the due dates to ensure the school can forward the required

payments to RootD Adventures, to meet the contract requirements. The payments are non-refundable as at

each of the above dates.  Please note your child’s place will be at risk if you do not pay by the above dates.

Should you need the name of an educational charity that may be able to assist financially in the case of

hardship, please email admin@flamsteadend.herts.sch.uk or telephone to speak with Mrs Spicer in the

school office.

For children where a deposit has not been paid or a parent/carer has not spoken with the School Office by 3^rd October 2024, we will presume a place is not required.
